Since its release on May 14, 2025, Cubic Odyssey has been thrilling you on Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The voxel-based survival adventure combines crafting, exploration and epic space battles in a unique sandbox. With the new update 1.0.2.14, you now get important improvements - at the same time, the long-awaited dedicated servers are moving.

Dedicated servers - you'll have to wait a little longer

You were supposed to be able to play on dedicated servers in July. But the developers have announced on X/Twitter that the release will be delayed:

"While we've planned to launch dedicated servers in July, they will be released a little bit later, as soon as we're sure they are working just fine for you to embark on a new journey with your friends."

What this means for you: Co-op is still possible, but you'll have to wait a little longer for the more stable, independent servers. The developers are keen to ensure that everything runs smoothly before you can get started.

Update 1.0.2.14 makes your gaming experience better

The update has been live since August 12, 2025 and brings some practical improvements:

  • Multiplayer runs more stable and synchronized

  • In the ship editor, you can now delete entire block volumes with one click

  • Bugs have been fixed - among other things, ships now reliably remain in maintenance mode, even if you die during take-off

  • The developers had already overhauled quests, multiplayer sync and creative mode - so you'll benefit from a smoother gaming experience step by step.

The community is divided

Many players like you understand that the developers don't want to rush the server release. Others are impatient and would rather have the function immediately. There is a heated debate in forums and on Reddit as to whether the wait will really be worth it in the end - or whether players will drop out before then.

Conclusion - it's worth the wait

Cubic Odyssey keeps you on the ball in a lively sandbox world. Even if the dedicated servers are still a long way off, update 1.0.2.14 shows that the developers are fully focused on your gaming experience. So you can already look forward to even more stable co-op adventures and a better server backend in the coming weeks.
