On March 26, 2020, the Early Access phase of Last Oasis, announced as a nomadic survival MMO, will start on Steam. After the planned launch last October, the expectations are high. It is still unclear whether developer Donkey Crew can convince with their work. But we already know a few things about their debut!

Donkey Crew
This is meant quite literally in Last Oasis. Thanks to a catastrophe, our planet Earth stopped spinning some time ago. This has fatal consequences for the planet's surface, the atmosphere and of course life itself. While one side of the Earth has become a desert quite like "Dune - TheDesert Planet", the other is a huge desert. Between these two hemispheres is the only reasonably habitable zone full of jungle, plants and food. It's up to you to get there as fast as you can and take your territory and defend it!

The walkers are the last bastion of humanity. These wind-powered desert walkers not only carry people across the desert as vehicles, but serve as entire villages, and in some cases even cities. The capital here is the giant walker called Flotilla. Thus, the people have managed a perfect balance of sedentary and nomadic life, in that they always have their freely customizable dwellings with them, and can even use them for travel. But this does not protect you from the dangers lurking in the brutal new world. Besides the obvious dangers of nature, such as the extreme heat and cold, there are unprecedented, newly evolved species on Earth. And these also want to survive... Probably the most concise and biggest example here is the sandworm. This huge creature can hardly be fought sensibly. For this, players have to join together in a kind of organized raid and face the beast. Alone or untrained, the only option with this thing is to flee.
As you've already noted, the crafting in particular is unique; simply because of the creative walker technology. However, much smaller walkers are also possible. Mounts, beasts of burden, and even mobile guns are all within the realm of possibility here. The technology knows no limits here. Since it is an MMO, of course many large-scale projects are feasible a worked out clan structures. So there are also the possibilities of clan fights to conquer a territory and / or exploit it as well as possible by mining resources with individual nomads in the new area or drive them in.Equipped with swords, maces, staves and axes, it is possible to defend its territory and expand it. The combat system is dynamic and skill-based, similar to a typical third person game. However, if you prefer to fight on the walker, you can do that too, because these monsters are more than just means of transportation. Slingshots, ballistae and more can be developed and attached to the walkers. Thus, great siege battles with colossi are pre-programmed. LastOasis comes with promising new mechanics that are seamlessly incorporated into the MMO-suvival gameplay. If the developer's support remains good, nothing will stand in the way of a successful launch.
