Functionality

The luck enchantment can be used on pickaxes, shovels and axes. It increases the drop rate of valuable resources such as diamonds, emeralds and coal.

Level & Effects

• Fortune I: Increases the drop rate up to 1.33 times.
• Fortune II: Increases the drop rate up to 1.75 times.
• Fortune III: Increases the drop rate up to 2.2 times.

Enchantment methods

• Enchanting Table: Place a pickaxe, shovel, or axe in the enchantment table and choose the Luck enchantment if available.
• Amboss & Enchanted Book: Combine a luck book with your tool.
• Villager Trade: Librarian villagers can offer luck books.

Usage & Advantages

• Increases the number of dropped ores such as diamonds, emeralds, coal, lapis lazuli and nether quartz.
• Helpful when mining Glowstone and Melons for more yield.
• Not applicable to iron or gold ore, as these are only dropped as raw metal.

• Combine Fortune with an efficiency enchantment to mine faster.
• Use Fortune on a separate pickaxe to keep durable tools for other tasks.
• Particularly valuable in the deep ore layers and when exploring Deep Dark or mountain biomes.
