Raids in Minecraft

Raids in Minecraft are waves of attacks by enemy Illagers that are triggered when a player with "Bad Omen" enters a village. Successful defense brings exclusive rewards such as the Totem of Immortality and the status "Hero of the Village".

Trigger

Status effect "Bad Omen ":

  • Obtained by defeating an Illager Captain (with banner) from a Pillager Outpost or Patrol

A raid starts when a player with Bad Omen:

  • Enters a village (at least 1 Bed & 1 Villager nearby).

Raid waves & opponents

Number of waves depends on the difficulty level:

  • Easy - 3 waves

  • Normal - 5 waves

  • Heavy - 7 waves

Possible opponents:

  • Pillager (crossbow)

  • Vindicator (axe)

  • Evoker (magic attacks & summoned Vex)

  • Ravager (large, strong beast mob)

  • Witches (healing potions, support for other mobs)

  • Ravager with rider (Evoker or Pillager)

Defense & Tips

  • Bell ring: Villagers run into their houses

Fuse:

  • fence or raise the village

  • Use iron doors + knob instead of wooden doors

  • Iron gates or portcullis with redstone

Combat strategy:

  • Use shield & strong weapons

  • Choose a high position for defense

  • Use golem farms or self-spawned iron golems for support

Rewards

Status effect "Hero of the Village" (Hero of the Village):

  • 60 minutes discount on villager trade

  • Villagers will occasionally throw you gifts

  • Drop loot from defeated mobs:

  • Emeralds, crossbows, banner shields, totem of immortality (from Evokern)

Trivia

  • A raid ends when all waves have been defeated or all villagers have been killed

  • The "Hero of the Village" effect can be removed with milk

  • Several players can trigger a raid at the same time, provided they are wearing Bad Omen
