Job assignment & advancement
-
Villagers without a profession (unemployed) look for a nearby work block.
-
If the work block is removed, the villager loses their occupation (if they have not yet acted).
-
Each profession has 5 career levels: novice, apprentice, journeyman, expert, master.
-
The trading opportunities increase with each level.
Tips
-
Place specific work blocks to create desired professions.
-
Use zombification and healing to get trade discounts.
-
Remove and place labor blocks to force better trade offers (only as long as no trade has been made).
-
Build targeted trade centers with controlled villagers and professions.
Trivia
-
Villagers work during the day and sleep at night.
-
Villagers' clothing varies depending on their profession and biome.
-
Once traded, villagers keep their profession, even if the work block is removed.
