Job assignment & advancement

  • Villagers without a profession (unemployed) look for a nearby work block.

  • If the work block is removed, the villager loses their occupation (if they have not yet acted).

  • Each profession has 5 career levels: novice, apprentice, journeyman, expert, master.

  • The trading opportunities increase with each level.

Tips

  • Place specific work blocks to create desired professions.

  • Use zombification and healing to get trade discounts.

  • Remove and place labor blocks to force better trade offers (only as long as no trade has been made).

  • Build targeted trade centers with controlled villagers and professions.

Trivia

  • Villagers work during the day and sleep at night.

  • Villagers' clothing varies depending on their profession and biome.

  • Once traded, villagers keep their profession, even if the work block is removed.
